Job Description::

Manages, monitors and optimizes the acquisition, use and disposal of IT assets. Minimizes waste and maximizes the value of technology investments. Supports financial planning by managing the total cost of asset ownership and helping budget for future IT needs. Ensures ongoing compliance with company, regulatory, licensing and other standards and requirements.

Key Responsibilities/Outcomes

• Gains familiarity with IT asset management concepts, practices and methodologies.
• With guidance, performs various asset management duties, such as:
 o Maintaining and updating asset inventory records,
 o Inputting details of newly acquired hardware and software into the asset management database,
 o Tracking movement of assets between departments or locations,
 o Monitoring software licenses to ensure compliance with agreements and standards,
 o Compiling records on software usage and license compliance,
 o Assisting with ordering and receiving new hardware and software,
 o Coordinating with other IT teams and users to deploy new assets,
 o Communicating with vendors to track order status, deliveries, returns and other information,
 o Updating warranty, service and other information in the database,
 o Generating reports on asset status, inventory, allocation and license usage,
 o Providing data for audits and reviews.
• Works with asset management colleagues, allied teams and users to understand asset requirements, management practices and planning.
• Assists with special projects as assigned.
