About the Software Engineer I Role
The Software Engineer I at CME Group is responsible for engineering secure, scalable, and highly reliable technology solutions. With appropriate mentoring from industry experts, you will help advance CMEG’s global marketplace presence and serve the critical risk management needs of customers worldwide. This role is designed for individuals who are passionate about coding, database management, and technical optimization.
Principal Accountabilities
- Coding & Development: Conduct coding at a small task level and assist in minimal design phases.
- Unit Testing: Perform thorough unit testing of your own code and review results with a mentor to ensure quality.
- Language Proficiency: Exhibit basic proficiency in programming languages; write application modules and unit tests with guidance.
- Database Management: Demonstrate knowledge of basic database SQL and fundamental database modeling.
- Design Implementation: Successfully implement technical designs received from managers or immediate supervisors.
- Optimization & Maintenance: Optimize code under supervision and apply learnings from prior code reviews. Correct identified defects and assist with environment build deployments.
Eligibility & Skill Requirements
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications and skills:
- Education: Graduates in BE, B.Tech, BSc, BCA, or MCA (specializing in Engineering, Computer Science, or IT).
- Batch Eligibility: Any.
